Educators Rising Succeeds in State Competitions

Students from Troy High School’s Teacher Academy program have earned a spot to compete on the national level. The students are members of Educators Rising, an organization dedicated to guiding students on their path to a career in education.

Every year, members attend and compete at the Educators Rising Ohio conference, which was held virtually this year. In spite of the disappointment of not being able to compete or receive the results in person this year, they were overjoyed with the results.

Seniors Ali Davis and Victoria Glover earned first place for their Pre-K children's literature book that they both wrote and illustrated. They read their book aloud and used sign language as a foreign language component.

Junior Caleb Michael received second place in his Impromptu Lesson competition where he received a lesson plan topic Sunday night and had to teach his 4th grade lesson Monday.

Junior Cailyn Starnes secured a spot as a top 10 qualifier  in the Impromptu Speech competition. She received a speech topic on Sunday night and had to give her speech on Monday as well.

The efforts of each of these students have qualified them to take their projects and skills up against Educators Rising students across the nation during the national conference to be held in a virtual format June 24-27, 2021.

Congratulations to these students for their hard work and extra efforts. We are proud of their accomplishments.
