Convocation will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 and is being held at Hobart Arena in Troy Ohio.
You are to line up inside the Hobart Arena tunnel. You must be in line by 6:40 p.m. Please stay with your class.
There will be signs on the wall for your program areas. Staff members will be there to assist.
Senior teachers will arrange you in order for the presentation of your Career-Technical Certificates. Please stay in order so you receive the proper certificate.
At 6:55 p.m., we will move into the Arena. You will be seated by program and in order of certificate presentation.
For some special awards, students will be called to the stage. Enter the stage from your left and exit to your right. For some awards, students will be asked to stand in place and be recognized. Please listen for instructions.
After you have received your award or certificate, please return to your seat.
If you have completed all program requirements and have paid all outstanding fees, you will receive your Career-Technical Completer Certificate at convocation.
If fees haven’t been paid by Tuesday, May 24, 2022, you will receive a debt letter in place of your certificate at convocation. Payment can be made and certificates can be picked up starting June 1, 2022 at the front office of the Career Center.
If you are unable to attend convocation, you can pick up your certificate starting June 1, 2022 at the front office of the Career Center, providing that all fees have been paid.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are not required. Students may bring as many guests as they choose. You may sit anywhere in the building except on the reserved chairs. Those are reserved for the graduates and special guests. There is adequate seating for handicapped people on the floor level.
The Convocation ceremony will be broadcast via Facebook Live. A link to the livestream will be posted on the Upper Valley Career Center website.
Please wear your associate school’s graduation gown during convocation. No caps or hats. See your counselor or Mrs. Reid in the Student Services Center if you need assistance in obtaining a graduation gown to wear. Please dress appropriately for the occasion. Flip flops and shorts are not acceptable.
Please show respect for yourself, your classmates, and your parents/guardians by behaving in an adult manner. Pay attention and refrain from making noise that will detract from the program.
Students will exit the ceremony as a group in the same manner as they entered. Students will be dismissed in the tunnel after exiting the arena.
Parents– please remain seated until students have left the arena area.
